Ewles and Simnett (1999) define health advance in its most simple form as improving health. However this is a min too simplistic and they go on to develop this, advocating that individuals should be encouraged to assume control of concerns impacting on their health. This was developed from the definition by The World health Organisation (WHO) (1986) who proposed that health forward motion is a way of equipping individuals with more power, and improving their health.
The author of this assignment plans to critically appraise a health promotion initiative called Healthy Respect, a versed health project aimed at young people. This hunt was chosen firstly because sexual health was one of the 5 key areas that the Health of the Nation (Department of Health 1992) (DOH) report highlighted, including jejune conceptions. Teenage health is an area that the Scottish Executive (2003), previously known as the Scottish Office, as well promotes through its Improving Health in Scotland document.
