The Causes of WWI
World War I was sparked by sixfold causes that had built up over the previous years, and had overall been caused by the hierarchy that had been imposed in Europe, consisting of the coarse Powers. Eric Hopsbaum stated that it was the seek to be the Great Power, or to remain a Great Power, and that because politics and economics had fused together, each country was fighting for its place in the hierarchy. Germany was getting restless, sick of being in the bottom of the hierarchy that was installed in Europe. The countries were propelled by this zero-sum contest, where their opponents must discharge in straddle for them to win and feel more exponentful.
