Mohandas K. Gandhi was born in Porobandar, India on October 2, 1869. His mother taught him the Hindu ways and told him to make something of himself. He became interested in law. He went to England to go to law school, and became a lawyer. He was very shy in court. So his friends saved his neck by giving him an assignment in sulfur Africa.

On a train in South Africa, Gandhi had an take that changed his life. He was riding in the first class simple machine when someone noticed that he was colored.
